AVerMedia® Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of digital multimedia and presentation technology, announced today the launch of the second annual AVerVision Scholarship Program. This $5000 scholarship is designed to award one graduating high school senior who demonstrates leadership, academic achievement, participates in extracurricular activities and has a desire to impact the world around them. Applicants must submit an official scholarship application, academic transcripts, professional resume and two letters of recommendation from former or current teachers. AVerMedia is dedicated to being environmentally and socially responsible so in addition to the above requirements applicants must submit a one page essay describing how they have impacted the environment and plan to contribute to a sustainable future.

The winner of AVerMedia’s 2009 scholarship will receive the $5000 award over the course of four years after proof of acceptance and enrollment in an accredited four-year college. AVerMedia will also recognize the two teachers whose written recommendations further support the winning student’s achievements and passion by awarding each teacher with a new AVerVision document camera. Last year’s contest was hugely successful; AVerMedia received over 100 applications and awarded a very deserving student. “AVerMedia continues to support and recognize the hard work and excellent contributions to the community made by high school students,” says Grant Woods, Marketing Communications Manager for AVerMedia Technologies, Inc.

Applications will be accepted beginning September 1, 2008 and must be complete and postmarked by March 27, 2009.
