"I am a technology training specialist for Chino valley Unified School District. Before that, I was in the classroom for 15 years as a special education teacher at the elementary level and an elementary classroom teacher. A few years ago, the other tech trainer and I were asked to choose a district standard for document cameras. We reviewed various cameras and also visited our repair shop at the district. Our district basically has one person tor hardware repairs. One glaring thing we noticed on his shelves is the lack of Aver document cameras. There simply were not any being sent in for repairs.

The ease of use, price, and fabulous support from Aver made our decision easy. In fact, we just placed an order for almost 200 more Aver document cameras so that alt our high school core subject teachers will have access to them. Most of our elementary teachers already have them. Teachers who have cameras from different companies often ask us if they can switch. I believe that out of the hundreds in our district, we have sent back only 2 or 3. Customer service had new cameras out to us almost before we could get the cameras to them.

When I say ease of use, l mean it. My co-worker and I have to train teachers at about 30 schools on the document cameras and we know the wide variety of abilities in our district. We have teachers who aren’t even sure how they work or what they are, but are using them on day one. The lowest level tech user can use the doc cams immediately and the highest user can utilize the advanced features. They are flexible enough for all levels. Plus, for our science teachers, the microscope adapter was a treat. if you only have one microscope, students would have to tine up to each take a turn viewing the slide sample. With the adapter, you can project the image for the whole class to observe.

Overall, the document cameras have been one of the best received pieces of technology we have ever introduced and are a fabulous purchase. However, for us, using Aver cameras specifically was one of the best decisions we have ever made. At a recent technology conference, I heard from other teachers and trainers telling me that their districts had made the same decision to go with Aver exclusively and did not regret their decisions at all.

If you have any questions, please feet tree to send me an email and I would be happy to answer them. Our district has just adopted the illuminate assessment system and will be using the document cameras for scanning assessment forms. The camera was so fast, we could barely get the next student test paper underneath. Most of our elementary teachers are using the mechanical arm version (3OOAF+) and for our recent large order, we chose the F50 for our high school teachers due to the simple on-board recording and annotation feature. I am actually looking forward to training our teachers in a few weeks. AVer makes my job easier and we are so glad we chose them for our district standard."
